Why I’m running

Oak Grove has room to do more.

I am running for mayor because Oak Grove has room to do more, but doing more cannot mean chasing growth simply for the sake of saying we grew. Growth has to be balanced, practical, and strong enough to sustain itself. In finance, making more does not automatically mean you should spend more. Every new expense creates an ongoing responsibility, and when those decisions are not carefully weighed, the citizen is left to pay the bill.

Moving Oak Grove forward requires more than approving ideas because they look good on paper. Every major decision should be calculated, researched, and measured against the way people actually live here. I will do the absolute best that I can to make sure progress strengthens our quality of life instead of creating costs that families, seniors, and businesses are forced to absorb later.

That is why I am stepping up. I want Oak Grove to grow with purpose, build on a foundation that can hold, and make decisions that still make sense after the excitement of the announcement is gone. We are the ones who live with the daily results, so the people of Oak Grove must remain at the center of every decision.

Campaign priorities

A focused direction for Oak Grove

The campaign is centered on seven areas where clear leadership and practical coordination can make a difference.

Public safety

Support reliable emergency services through realistic planning and funding that the city can sustain.

Youth and families

Build stronger connections between young people, families, mentors, organizations, and opportunities in the community.

Seniors and quality of life

Seniors deserve recognition for setting the pace and path we see in front of us. They deserve the peace of mind that Oak Grove is in good hands, with leadership that is not simply doing the same thing over and over again or allowing growth and costs to outpace what they are able to afford.

Local business

Create a clearer and more welcoming process for businesses that want to open, expand, and invest in Oak Grove. Incentives should be fair across the board and publicly advertised so anyone putting down roots here feels equally welcome. Whatever parameters we receive from the state, the city should work within them to make business owners comfortable and give them room to thrive.

Responsible growth

Responsible growth is not about forcing money into projects and working out the consequences afterward. Revenue should be received ethically, balanced carefully, and distributed to the departments that need it, with oversight to ensure it is used properly. Growth can be gradual while we test the waters and build a foundation that will not crumble, avoiding backtracking, unnecessary tax increases, or added fees caused by failing to research decisions before implementation.

Accessible government

I am your neighbor who just happens to be a leader. Accessible government means not running from accountability and being able to speak with any citizen or business owner in Oak Grove to work through concerns and disputes. There should never be a barrier. If the city has a misstep, we own it and move forward. Every citizen should understand city decisions, what supports them, and receive direct responses. Government should never be cryptic.

Civic participation

Civic participation begins with residents having clear information and a real opportunity to be heard. That means making meetings, public notices, election information, and city decisions easier to understand and access. It also means reducing practical barriers, including transportation, without regard to political preference. Participation should not end on Election Day. Residents should have meaningful ways to ask questions, offer ideas, and help shape Oak Grove throughout the year.

Nonpartisan efforts
